1. Research valuable keywords

You can’t do any type of SEO without proper keyword selections. It’s extremely important to research possible keywords that relate to your product or service and use them sparingly throughout your article. There are various free keyword researching tools to use, or you can simply have a look at the website content to determine possible keywords.

2. Make use of high domain authority links

Linking is an important tool that can improve your website’s overall ranking ever so often when Google decides to crawl your site. By linking longtail keywords (two to three phrase key sentences) to useful websites, preferably websites which you know have a high domain authority and will link back to your site, you have the power to increase your audience and content value. 3. Keep it at a readable length

Not only do you have to ensure your article is readable by using bold headings and short paragraphs, you also need to ensure it’s just the right length. Similar to Goldilocks and the Three Bears, it has to be just right! Not too short for it to have very little value, and not too long to discourage readers of actually reading your articles.

4. Ensure it sounds natural

Natural is what Google likes. If at all possible, make sure you add a keyword in the heading of your article, the first paragraph, and sparingly throughout the body of your article without it sounding generic. The more natural it sounds, the easier it’ll be to read, the better you’ll be able to relate to your readers. Besides, you definitely don’t want it to sound like a sales pitch, do you?

5. Don’t forget about the alt text

Always use an image or two in your article, either in the body or as the featured image, and optimise it by filling out the alt text section with a keyword. This will add to your article being found and improve your website’s SEO ranking. It only takes a second, but will help you greatly when optimising your articles for ranking purposes.
