Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (‘Terms’) govern your access to and use of pixel8.co.za. Please therefore ensure you read these Terms carefully before using the site. In using the site and/or creating an account, you agree to accept and be bound by these Terms.

Pixel8.co.za is offered and available to users who are 18 years of age or older. If you are under 18 you may not use this Site or the Pixel8 services. By using pixel8.co.za, you represent and warrant that you are of legal age to form a binding contract with the Company and meet all of the foregoing eligibility requirements. If you do not meet all of these requirements, you must not access or use the Site.

How the website works

You must be registered on pixel8.co.za in order to buy or sell through the site. Registration is free for both Buyers and Sellers. Payment is made in advance for all services and payment is released to the Seller upon mutually agreed completion of the service. You may not offer or accept payment for services on pixel8.co.za using any method other than by placing an order through pixel8.co.za.

Buyers are granted all rights in the work delivered (e.g. copyright in designs), unless otherwise specified by the Seller within their service description or as agreed with the Buyer. This is also excluding Stock Images.

When using Stock Images, you represent and warrant the following:
• You may not sell, modify, re-use, re-sell, distribute, display, reproduce or make any other use of the Stock Images.
• Stock Image(s) may not be used:
• on a stand-alone basis with no other content;
• for pornographic, defamatory or other unlawful purposes;
• as templates used to create multiples copies of the same Gig;
• for the purpose of enabling file-sharing of the image file; or
• in logos, trademarks, services marks or any other branding or identifiers.
• If Stock Images featuring individuals is used in connection with a sensitive, unflattering or controversial subject, you must include a statement that the image is used for illustrative purposes only and the individual is a model.
• You may not activate the “right-click” function in Stock Images, remove any metadata in Stock Images, or reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Stock Image(s) to enable the download or use Stock Images on a stand-alone basis.
• No ownership or copyrights to Stock Images are granted to you.

Ordering services

Services may be purchased using a valid debit card or credit card. Once payment is confirmed, an order will be created. The Seller will be notified once the Buyer has submitted any required information through the order page and conversation feature. If the buyer has specific requirements or request, they can post a request on the site via the Contact Us form by selecting the ‘post a request’ from the drop down list.

If there is credit balance in the Buyer’s Pixel8 account which is equal to or greater than the purchase price of the service required, then payment will be taken from that balance. The Buyer’s identity will remain anonymous at all times.

Payments outside of pixel8.co.za for services offered on the site are not permitted. If the Buyer is asked to use an alternative method of payment, they must please report it to Pixel8’s Customer Support team immediately.

Where an order is eligible for cancellation (e.g. due to late delivery) it can only be cancelled by Customer Support within 10 days of being marked as completed. After this time, the order cannot be cancelled.

Pixel8.co.za reserves the right to cancel orders or place funds on hold for any suspected fraudulent transactions made on the Site.

Administration fee

All pixel8.co.za purchases incur an administration fee. This fee helps us recover some of the payment transaction charges applied by our payment service providers. These providers enable us to offer our members a completely safe, secure and convenient payment platform; greatly reducing the risk of online fraud. The administration fee also helps towards our associated costs in manually handling payments, refunds, order-related disputes and providing a reliable customer support service. More importantly, the fee means that we can invest more in our pixel8.co.za community, bringing improved functionality to the site.

• Where the Buyer purchases a service that requires physical delivery, the Buyer will be required to provide a shipping address. The Seller will be responsible for all shipping arrangements once the Buyer supplies the shipping address. Pixel8.co.za does not handle or guarantee shipping, tracking, quality and condition of items or their delivery and shall not be responsible or liable for any damage or other problems incurred, directly or indirectly, as a result of shipping.
• In this case, local shipping charges (within South Africa) will be included in the final item price.
• Upon completion of a shipping order, the Buyer will receive a confirmation email containing a tracking number, as well as the specific details for the delivery.

General terms

Any breach of our Terms of Service may result in the offender’s account being permanently disabled. Where the Seller’s account has been disabled, they will be able to withdraw their revenues after a safety period of 45 to 90 days from the day of the last cleared payment received in their account. This is subject to our approval, taking into account the nature of the breach/violation.

We reserve the right to put any account on hold or to permanently disable it due to account misuse. A user whose account is on hold will not be able to sell or buy on pixel8.co.za

From time to time, we may make changes to our Terms of Service. An updated copy of the Terms will be made available at http://www.pixel8.co.za/terms-of-service.

Pixel8.co.za is hosted in Germany and most of the services are fulfilled outside of South Africa.

Pixel8.co.za pays all required taxes and levies on the commission based service it provides. Where applicable, all Buyers and Sellers must ensure that they conform to their local rules and regulations and pay all required taxes associated with the purchase or sale of any service. We will not be held responsible for any liability incurred as a result of the sale or purchase of any services hosted on the site, other than our own legal commitments.

To protect our users’ privacy, user identities are kept anonymous. Requesting or providing Email addresses, Skype/IM usernames, telephone numbers or any other personal contact details to communicate outside of pixel8.co.za in order to circumvent or abuse the pixel8.co.za messaging system or platform is not permitted.

All information and file exchanges must be performed exclusively on pixel8.co.za’ platform. Rude, abusive, improper language, or violent messages sent to users will not be tolerated and may result in an account warning or the suspension/removal of your account.


We encourage our Buyers and Sellers to try and settle disputes amongst themselves. If for any reason they are not able to do so, they can submit a customer support ticket withsupport@pixel8.co.za.

Refunds will be credited to the Buyer’s pixel8 balance and may be used for future purchases on pixel8.co.za.


By registering as a member on pixel8.co.za, you may receive newsletters and other communications via email. See the section below on ‘Communications from the Site’.

Account use

It is the member’s responsibility to use their account for its intended purpose and in line with Pixel8’s Terms. Failure to do so may incur an official warning or account suspension (depending on the violation in question). The following actions may attract an official warning or account suspension:
• Encouraging service Buyers to pay for services outside of the pixel8.co.za website
• Sharing payment information or personal information that encourages other registered members to transact outside of the website
• Sending unsolicited emails to other members about services or products

Communications from pixel8.co.za
Special Offers and Updates

We will occasionally send our members information on products, services, special deals and promotions. If you do not wish to receive communication you can opt out of receiving them by following the instructions included in the newsletter or communication, or by submitting a customer support ticket with support@pixel8.co.za.

Tax Invoice

By default, no tax invoices are issued for products purchased through pixel8.co.za. Should the Buyer need a tax invoice to be issued, please request it via the contact us form on http://pixel8.co.za/contact-pixel8

Lead time

It is the Buyer’s responsibility to provide the Seller with all the necessary information / copy / logos etc, in a timely manner, in order for the job to be started, and that the lead time stated on the product page, will only be started from when all the necessary information has been provided by the Buyer and not from the date when the purchase was made.
Estimated lead time to complete a project only includes working days (Monday to Fridays) and excludes weekends and public holidays.
